New Super Mario Bros. 2

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the 3Ds sequel to New Super Mario Bros. for Nintendo Ds. The game follows in the traditional "Bowser kidnaps the princess, go save her" theme as most of the Mario games. The second part though, is to collect as many coins as possible. The levels are all designed to get you as many coins as possible (except for the bad underwater stages).

The power-ups in this game have some new and some old abilities. Old additions to the Mario power-ups are: Mushroom, Fire Flower, Mini Mushroom, Mega Shroom (after being absent after New Super Mario Bros Wii.), Super Star, and Tanooki Tail (from Super Mario 3D Land). Tanooki Tail allows you to fly after you run for a certain amount of time, when the bar turns red, you can fly.

The power-ups that are new are: the Gold Fire Flower. It is just like the original, except that you get coins when defeating enemies. The only thing is that you lose it if you get hit, or finish the level. Otherwise it is a good power-up. The Coin block returns that if you jump on it, it goes on Mario's head, and when you move, you get coins for a certain time.

Non-returning power-ups are: Ice Flower, Penguin Mario, Shell Mario.

The graphics have improved over the original Ds game, but is on par with the Wii game. The plot is usual but adds the Koopalings in as a new foe. The mid-boss fight was a bit repetitive fighting the Tricera-Dinos all over again in each world, but the game is really fun.

The Co-Op is back with two players, but you have to share a screen. The bubble is back, but it has a delay, and it is hard to press when you need it. Also, sometimes each of the bros get in the way of each other, preventing you from getting to certain points, or secret exits. But this helps you if you are having trouble.

Overall I would give the game a 4 out of 5 stars because the game was fun, but there was a few problems that could easily be fixed, but overall, this is a must buy for all Mario fans.

I would change the Co-Op so that you don't have to share a screen, you could go farther, but you still have to finish the level with your buddy. I would also change the fact that the bubble is hard to press, so I would make it so that the bubble is in the middle, with the power-up on the right, like in the storyline, so that I can use it when I need it. This would make the game much better than it is because the only problems that I see is from the Co-Op, not from the Solo play.
