I'm Not a Legend: An Apex Legends Review

Hello Legends,

Today I am reviewing the Legendary (pun intended) Apex Legends! The game is for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It is a Battle Royale, similar to Fortnite in Genre.

As usual, I will go over the story, and the gameplay.

Story:

Many years in the future, somebody made an arena for many competitors to fight for glory. Teams of 3 go in, and try to become the victor in the match.

There is a lot of lore in the backstory of the characters, but there really isn't a good place to view it, and as such, it makes the story a little to hard to find or understand.

Gameplay:

The gameplay on the other hand, is amazing. The game is a First-Person Shooter, so you are always on the go.

There is a Ping System, which lets you mark locations for your teammates, or find enemies to win matches. This is amazing, especially as it can help you out in a dire situation, or can help you choose a different route.

In addition, there are different tiers of weapons and items available. Each tier has stronger loot. I like the tiers because it gives an incentive to find more loot and survive.

The problem though is that you can only carry so much loot. I wish that you could carry more. Backpacks fix this problem, but for me they have been sparse.

There are several different characters to choose from as well. They all have unique abilities, from a passive, non activating ability, to an ultimate ability that could change the game.

My problem with some of the characters though is that they have to be unlocked by a special currency, which can take ages to get. This makes it hard to play new content, because I simply can't.

The gameplay is super smooth as well, allowing me to survive, and quickly react to the situation.

Overall:

I give this game a 4 out of 5. The gameplay is amazing outside of unlocking characters. The story though gives this game down one point because it is hard to access.

  1. I have heard about this game before but I never actually played it. It was nice to have a little insight to what the game entails and about certain aspects of the game. I as well would hate having to wait a long time to unlock certain characters. Sometimes I get fed up with waiting and I will stop playing the game and I will never go back to playing it. I like the aspect of always being on the go! I also like the incentive aspect as well because I like competing for certain objects. I like games that offer adventure and objects to work towards achieving.
