Hi Everyone,
Today I am writing my review of Destiny 2. I do not have the new Shadowkeep Expansion, so it will be about the game itself, and not the new DLC.
Destiny 2 is made by Bungie, Inc. It is for the Xbox One, PS4, PC, and apparently the Google Stadia when that comes out. I play on the Xbox One though.
The game is FTP (Free to Play). I recommend at least getting it because of that, and if you don't like it then you can delete it later.
As usual, it's all about the story, and the gameplay.
You are a Guardian. You have to defend the Earth, and the Traveler from the Darkness, or other races that want to destroy the Traveler, and the Human Race.
You and your Ghost (Object of the Traveler) go on adventures to save the world from the bad guys. Along the way you meet different characters with different motives, and each of them are fairly interesting.
I think that the story is very interesting. There are a lot of characters that all have different functions, like defending the Traveler, to being a shopkeeper. Bungie did a good job building the world.
The problem though is that the story can get clogged with a thousand different characters, each doing something crazy and unique. This is nice if you are a lore junkie, but a regular person would have a hard time figuring out what to say or do.
The game is a FPS (First-Person Shooter), with TPS (Third-Person Shooter) elements. All of the weapons that you use are first person, except for certain gameplay objectives, Super Powered moves (more on that later), and Swords.
You collect different loot throughout the game, and you can build your character with different rarities of weapons or armor.
They are:
1. Common
2. Uncommon
3. Rare
4. Legendary
5. Exotic
Exotic weapons are the rarest of them all. You can only have 1 Exotic weapon and 1 Exotic armor at a time. Everything else must be a combination of the other rarities.
There are 3 classes in the game. They are the Warlock, Titan, and Hunter. I personally play the Warlock, as he is more balanced, or a medic (which I like to play as in my games). If you are the damage dealer, then Titan is the way to go. If you like tactical gameplay, then the Hunter is for you. Each playstyle is unique, and everyone will like something in the game.
Super Powered Moves are just called Supers. They are ultimate moves that are used to deal massive damage to bosses, or get rid of any enemies in your path. No matter what class you choose, the Supers are all really good. The Warlock's in my opinion are the best though (I'm biased) because more enemies can be eliminated than with the other class Supers.
There are plenty of enemies to get rid of as well. Each of them have different attributes, like shields (similar to Halo, which you have too), or elemental damage. You have to prepare for each one accordingly.
You can travel in vehicles like Halo. They are called Sparrows, and they have different functions depending on what you get. They are all fun.
The gameplay is super accessible and fun. I love it, and I would keep going at it in the future.
I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. The campaign doesn't need to be super confusing, but the game itself is fun.

I feel that Destiny is too much of a mash-up of other video games. I don't see much unique about it that will give replayability. I wonder if the third installment will venture further with distinguishing the title from other games? That just my view, but nice review. You break the game down nicely.
